Still an MVP!

2 10 2004

I got a pleasant surprise today, my MVP status was renewed! This is my forth year as an MVP, and I have got to say it rocks! The funny thing is that its a reward for stuff that I love doing anyway.

Anyway, thanks to everyone involved, I really do appreciate it :)

Improvements to TortoiseCVS

2 10 2004

A while back I was a closet CVS user, while others on the development teams that I was working with weren’t looking I would sneaking set CVSROOT in my command shell and issue CVS commands - this dirty little habit of mine saved source code countless times.

Two years ago I came out and it was all because of this beautiful piece of software. Ever since then I have been trying to “turn” users of version control systems with mixed results. Some really take to it while others find the lifestyle just isn’t for them.

OK, enough innuendo, I was pleasantly surprised today when I got a fresh new user interface from TortoiseCVS when I wanted to add the contents of a folder to the module.

I’m running 1.8.0-RC6, so if you happen to be running an older version then you might like to try this one out (notice that it is RC6 - so its not officially gold software yet). Anyway, just wanted to let folks know, I am off to the CVS pride parade.
