Ken Schaefer joins Readify

5 07 2005

Ken Schaefer has joined Readify as a Senior Consultant. For those of you who don’t know, Ken is an IIS MVP and a member of the ASPInsiders community. I’ve known Ken for what would be close to five years and having him come on board is a real highlight for me.

It looks like Frank is going to update his list of Readify bloggers! One thing that I do what to do is reply to some of the comments that I’ve seen on the blogs around the place – I think it was Eddie de Bear that said we should be called “MVPify”.

While its true that we do have many MVP working at Readify, its not that we have a “collect the whole set” mentality, quite the opposite actually. We rely heavily on the recommendations of existing staff members to find new candidates, and since we had a few MVPs from near day dot, its kind of natural that we would “connect” to other MVPs.

Half the people that work for Readify in a technical capacity are not MVPs – but the common thread that binds us all together is natural technical ability with a desire to grow and share our knowledge base.

ConfigFramework.exe Error: … GlobalPropertySchemas.dll …

5 07 2005

The subject line is more for the benefit of Google than anything else. I ran into this problem running ConfigFramework.exe yesterday during a BizTalk setup on a Windows 2003 SP1 environment.

I actually managed to find the Component Services Security Configuration dialog myself (had a similar experience with something else) – but ended up calling Bill Chesnut who pointed me to this knowledge base article. I actually tried some of the techniques listed but it didn’t work - but re-reading it again I actually missed a step!

Something to try tomorrow.
