I am sitting here in the Microsoft office in Canberra watching Jeff Beehler and Charles Sterling talk to the local .NET developer crowd on Team Foundation Server. It is really an awareness session for a lot of people.

The exciting thing is that this stuff is no longer pre-release and people can go out and deploy it into their environments now. I just hope that the developers in Canberra feel strongly enough about using good tools to get this stuff up and running.

  1. Damn! So flat out at work I couldn’t make it :(

Did I miss much? I guess it’s too late to get you to say hi to chuck for me either :)

I suspected you might be blogging away over there in the corner. :) Looking down the barrell of a potentially large SOA project involving multiple vendors delivering different parts of the solution, TFS is going to need some serious consideration.

Shame there is no TFS Awareness happening in Qld. We’re now running TFS-Workgroup, and really having trouble with basic stuff. It’s installed, but there is little guidance around on actually using the damn thing.

This week the brisbane dnug is having a session on TFS.

    Info below….

This month we again have a real treat. Jeff Beehler is a US-based member of the TFS (Team Foundation Services in VSTS) product group. The day after the product RTM’d, he jumped on a plane and headed for Australia. We’re super-glad to have him with us next Tuesday night.

If you will be attending, please RSVP via email to greg@qmsdnug.org to help us plan refreshments (normally pizzas and drinks).

Be there: 5:45pm for 6:00pm start Tuesday, 28th March 2006

    Finish: around 7:30pm

Location: Microsoft Brisbane Office, Level 9, Waterfront Place, 1 Eagle St, Brisbane.
