I knew a marketing manager - synonym for evil witch - that went into SEO, obviously a good idea as both fields involve so much jiggling of bags of bones and mysterious waving of hands and incantations.

By the way this was a few years ago not a current Marketing Manager I am working with, I had best back paddle quicker, ooohh! I can feel a hex coming.

lol Mitch, I've often wondered about this. And too be honest, I suspect you are better off including things like Britney Spears, God or Senator Obama in the actually page contents (probably hidden) than spending time playing around with URLs and many of these other so called tricks..

I met a very knowlegeable lady at the Australian Bloggers Conference. Her blog is and she can offer valuable advice on using Google and other search engines. She is a straight talker and there is much information in her blog. She is something of an evangelist and I obviously found her quite engaging. Injecting her into your project would be a very good thing, if it were practical/possible.

I think you will find your info on what happens in search engines is dated. I know mine is. Bear in mind the problems facing search engines, particularly the censorship of malicious content/intent. Not every popular web page even makes it onto Google. Now theres a thought.
